Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrey Konovalov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konovalov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. CJClip - No reason to live but we do it kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrey Konovalov!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Konovalov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Smith stands and throws Konovalov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Konovalov is not content to let Smith control the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Smith.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Konovalov throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Konovalov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Smith advances to mount.
Konovalov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Konovalov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Konovalov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Konovalov has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Smith. Oh but Konovalov has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Smith goes limp - he's gone! Konovalov jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
