Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Zeldenthuis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Key's choice of entrance music: EYELID - REGENERATE. On his way into the cage it seems that Dirk Zeldenthuis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dirk Zeldenthuis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

28 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Key! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Key fails in his attempt to clinch. Zeldenthuis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Key stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Key throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Key looks to score with a jab to the body but Zeldenthuis is just out of range. Zeldenthuis ducks under a wild hook from Key. Key throws a nice outside leg kick. Key tries to land a body kick and Zeldenthuis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Key is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've been hearing good reports from Zeldenthuis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Key has his hands clasped together around Zeldenthuis's back. He's all about the action. Zeldenthuis is thwarting Key's attempts to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Don Key hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Key jabs Zeldenthuis right on the nose. Key is trying to keep his angry face on. Key jabbing away but nothing is landing. Zeldenthuis jabs at Key's body. Key throws a jab but it's blocked by Zeldenthuis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A cross from Zeldenthuis lands. Key defending well as Zeldenthuis loads up on a big left hand. Zeldenthuis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Key checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Zeldenthuis moves away from the strike by Key. Key throws a half hearted mid kick. Key takes a shot right to the bread basket. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Zeldenthuis. Key wants to slow Zeldenthuis down by chopping away at his legs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Key throws a low kick but Zeldenthuis avoids it. Don Key is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Key throws out a loose jab but Zeldenthuis uses good head movement to avoid it. Key moves out of range of the strikes. A swing and a miss from Zeldenthuis.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Key on the wrong end of a nice jab. Zeldenthuis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Key. Key buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Key throws the kick towards the body but Zeldenthuis avoids it. Key ducks under a wild hook from Zeldenthuis. Key tries to score with a low kick but Zeldenthuis moves his leg out of the way. Zeldenthuis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Key can pounce on him.
Key moves in looking to clinch but Zeldenthuis pushes him off. Zeldenthuis connects with a right hand. Key shakes it off. Zeldenthuis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Key is out of range and Zeldenthuis settles back down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zeldenthuis blocks a jab. Zeldenthuis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Key doesn't manage to clinch there - Zeldenthuis circles away.
Key throws a push kick but Zeldenthuis slaps the foot to one side. Zeldenthuis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Key walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Key throws a hook but Zeldenthuis avoids it easily. Zeldenthuis moves out of range of the body kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Key takes one on the chin but seems OK.

A close round but Don Key will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Zeldenthuis feints and then cracks Key's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Key down. Key uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zeldenthuis. Zeldenthuis connects with a looping right hand.

Zeldenthuis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Key moves away. Key misses with a hook. Zeldenthuis ducked under it nicely. Zeldenthuis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Key is trying to defend but Zeldenthuis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Key slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Key is pulling down on Zeldenthuis's head. It's preventing any offense from Zeldenthuis, at least for the moment. Key working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zeldenthuis. Zeldenthuis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Key's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zeldenthuis won't allow Key to sweep him here. Key is trying to control the position but Zeldenthuis postures up. Zeldenthuis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Key is keeping the position for now. Key is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zeldenthuis wants to get back to full guard. Zeldenthuis is working hard here to advance position. Key is thwarting Zeldenthuis's attempts to control the position. Zeldenthuis is defending against the submission attempts here by Key.

Zeldenthuis is controlling Key's trapped leg to prevent Key from advancing to side control. Key content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Zeldenthuis trying to get back to full guard but Key takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Zeldenthuis is in all sorts of trouble here.

Zeldenthuis tries to hold on but Key pushes him away. Zeldenthuis is looking to improve his position but Key isn't that keen on the idea. Key throwing strikes here but Zeldenthuis is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

As Don Key got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Dork was a pretty a good a fighter, but he was a no match for my a donkey style! Now you know what the donkey style feels like if you a know what I a mean! BROKEN HALO!'.
