Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sai Fukuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Borocop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sai Fukuta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Borocop!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borocop swings widly with a right hand
and Fukuta counters with a straight right hand.
Fukuta shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Borocop counters with a nice uppercut.
Fukuta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Borocop throws out the jab.
Fukuta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fukuta shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Borocop lands a really nice looking cross but Fukuta seems unphased.

Fukuta closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Fukuta's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Fukuta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Borocop perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fukuta has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Borocop is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fukuta has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Borocop is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fukuta shoots for a takedown but Borocop saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mark Borocop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


A looping hook to the body misses from Borocop. Fukuta does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fukuta takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Fukuta shoots in looking for a takedown but Borocop manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fukuta's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Borocop throws out a loose jab but Fukuta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fukuta darts in looking for a takedown but Borocop gets double underhooks and turns Fukuta into the cage.
Fukuta is trying to pull guard but Borocop has him pressed against the cage.

Fukuta fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Borocop cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Borocop darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
