Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between JB Brubaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brubaker comes into the arena with August Burns Red - Poor Millionaire blaring out of the sound system. Faber has chosen Choke - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Urijah Faber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JB Brubaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Urijah Faber! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brubaker misses with a head kick.
Brubaker tries to score with a low kick but Faber moves his leg out of the way. Faber swings widly with a right hand
and Brubaker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A punch combination from Brubaker misses. Brubaker throws a sloppy head kick and Faber moves out of range easily. Faber moves away from the strike by Brubaker. The fighters circling - Faber throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice body kick there by Brubaker. Faber throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brubaker misses the shot to the body. Brubaker gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Faber. Brubaker connects with a looping right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. JB Brubaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Faber takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Brubaker swings for the body but Faber moves out of range.

Faber looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Brubaker misses with an uppercut. Faber saw that one coming. Brubaker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Brubaker misses with a low kick.
Faber looks to throw the jab but Brubaker is out of range. Faber has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Faber checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Brubaker fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Faber has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brubaker drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Faber uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brubaker. Brubaker on the wrong end of a nice hook. Brubaker slips under a jab. Brubaker misses the jab. Faber fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Brubaker on the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Faber misses with an uppercut. Brubaker saw that one coming. Brubaker misses with a body shot.
Brubaker moves out of range of the strikes. Brubaker moves away from the strike by Faber.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brubaker misses with the combination.
Brubaker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brubaker throws a push kick but Faber slaps the foot to one side. Both fighters circling a little - Brubaker finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Jab by Faber. Brubaker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Faber slips a straight right by Brubaker. Brubaker lands a right hook to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Brubaker. JB Brubaker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brubaker misses with a low kick. Faber keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brubaker feints and then cracks Faber's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Faber down. Brubaker tries a head kick but it misses.

Brubaker misses with a hook. Faber ducked under it nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Faber throws out a loose jab but Brubaker uses good head movement to avoid it. Brubaker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Faber throws out the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JB Brubaker dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Faber blocks a jab. Brubaker scores with the left hand. Faber knows he should have avoided that one. Brubaker pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Brubaker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Faber manages to avoid it. Faber connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Faber on the wrong end of a nice low kick. and Brubaker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Brubaker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A big left from Brubaker misses. Brubaker throws a head kick but Faber moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Brubaker. Brubaker lands with a good body shot. Brubaker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Brubaker missing with a left hand there. Faber was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. No joy there for Brubaker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brubaker walks into a left hand. Faber looks to land a combination but Brubaker avoids it well. Brubaker throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Faber counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brubaker's guard now. Faber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brubaker swivels though and keeps the full guard. Faber drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brubaker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brubaker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brubaker!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Faber is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brubaker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Brubaker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Faber defending well though. Brubaker wants to pass to mount but Faber is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brubaker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Faber is trying to get back to full guard. Faber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brubaker. We've been hearing good reports from Brubaker's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Faber avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brubaker. Brubaker working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Faber's thigh. Faber counters though and makes it back to full guard. Faber trying to keep a closed guard but Brubaker is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Faber wants to sweep but no luck. Brubaker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Brubaker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brubaker wants to control from the top but Faber keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that JB Brubaker will probably get the nod. That's time! Brubaker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Brubaker throws a leg kick and Faber counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Brubaker working a defensive guard but Faber manages to pass into side control anyway.
Urijah Faber has got the better of the ground game so far. Faber tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brubaker's legs. Faber trying to control the position but Brubaker is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brubaker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Faber but great work by Brubaker. Brubaker controls the position. Brubaker sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Faber is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brubaker working the strikes but Faber uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Brubaker trying to control from half guard but Faber is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brubaker. Faber keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Faber is looking to improve his position.
Brubaker throws a strike but Faber avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Brubaker sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. JB Brubaker wasn't doing enough on the ground. A big right from Faber misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brubaker throws a leg kick but Faber sees it coming and moves out of range. Faber misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brubaker misses with a body kick. Brubaker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Faber was well out of range. Poor timing from Brubaker. Brubaker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Good work by Faber as he checks the leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Faber there. Faber throws a jab but it's blocked by Brubaker. Faber displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brubaker throws out the jab. Faber's jab looks to have found its range, popping Brubaker under the eye. Faber defending well as Brubaker loads up on a big left hand. Brubaker throws a big shot that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brubaker connects with a body shot. JB Brubaker is winning the standup battle so far. Brubaker throws a head kick but Faber moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to JB Brubaker. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brubaker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
