Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Snakes, right into the meat.
Snakes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Opperman misses with a double jab.
Opperman shoots in and bounces Snakes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Snakes has his hands on Opperman's head, controlling the position.
Opperman lands a couple of elbows.
Snakes has momentary wrist control but Opperman slips an elbow through the middle.
Opperman stands up and waves to Snakes to follow him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Opperman tries to close the distance and clinch but Snakes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Snakes scores with a three punch combo!
Jakes Snakes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snakes misses with the combination.
Jakes Snakes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Snakes falls off balance throwing a combination
and Opperman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Snakes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Opperman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Opperman moves nicely into side control.
Snakes is trying to get back to his feet.
Opperman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Snakes wants to control but Opperman postures up.
Opperman stands up.

Snakes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Opperman paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Snakes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Opperman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Opperman stands up and beckons Snakes to his feet.
Snakes fakes the leg kick and cracks Opperman in the body.
Snakes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Opperman.
Opperman is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Snakes is trying to escape and Opperman transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Snakes is forced to tap! Nice work there by Opperman! Very nice indeed!
