Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Jobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jobbs fails to land with a series of punches.
Jobbs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cote as he jumps to the side.
Cote throws a head kick but Jobbs moves out of range.

Cote drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jobbs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cote controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jobbs keeping moving, preventing Cote from controlling successfully.
Jobbs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cote is controlling him.
Cote content to stall in guard here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Patrick Cote hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jobbs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cote rushes Jobbs and presses him up against the cage.
Jobbs wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cote has him pressed against the cage.

Cote manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cote is adopting a defensive guard.
Jobbs is looking to stand up but Cote won't let him.
Cote has Jobbs pulled in close to control his posture.
Cote tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Cote kicks Jobbs off and gets to his feet.

Jobbs has Cote up against the cage in a clinch.

Jobbs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cote goes for a takedown attempt but Jobbs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Cote gets a double leg takedown into Jobbs's guard.

Jobbs is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cote postures up in Jobbs's guard and throws a big left but Jobbs blocks it.

Cote stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jobbs swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cote's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Patrick Cote.
Jobbs misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cote changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jobbs tries to avoid it but Cote manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jobbs to the ground. Jobbs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cote shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jobbs as he avoids it easily.
Steve Jobbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Cote.
Jobbs tries to bum rush Cote with a series of wild strikes but Cote uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Cote pushes Jobbs back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Jobbs gets underhooks to prevent Cote's takedown attempt.

Cote successfully pulls guard.
Jobbs postures up.
Cote is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cote looks winded!

Cote is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jobbs is just riding it out for now. Cote eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jobbs looks like he's trying to stand up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jobbs misses with a takedown attempt - Cote sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cote has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jobbs after a bit of a struggle.

Cote tightens his grip and picks Jobbs up, before dumping him to the ground. Jobbs manages to land in guard.

Jobbs is looking to clinch but Cote is avoiding it.

Cote tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jobbs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cote somewhat.

Cote looks to land a body kick but Jobbs moved away.
Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jobbs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jobbs swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Cote counters with a stiff right hand.

Jobbs wants to stand and escape but Cote is having none of it.
Cote stands and throws Jobbs's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Patrick Cote has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cote is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jobbs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Patrick Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Cote feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cote is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jobbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cote on the ground.
Jobbs is looking to escape.
Jobbs is not content to let Cote control the position.
Cote thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jobbs scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cote manages to mount him!

Cote fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Jobbs's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jobbs is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Cote has taken his back!

Cote has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Jobbs is defending well but eventually Cote manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Jobbs has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
