Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamie Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kalu Kaodinakachi!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kaodinakachi was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Kaodinakachi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kaodinakachi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts.
Kaodinakachi misses the shot to the body.
Kaodinakachi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kaodinakachi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Johnson on the side of the head.
Kaodinakachi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johnson manages to avoid it.
Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kaodinakachi defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Kaodinakachi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Kaodinakachi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Kaodinakachi, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Kaodinakachi against the cage but Kaodinakachi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kaodinakachi lands a head kick. Johnson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Kaodinakachi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kaodinakachi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kaodinakachi feints a jab promting Johnson to slip. Kaodinakachi then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Johnson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kaodinakachi finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head.
Kaodinakachi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Johnson rather than just go for the knockout.
Kaodinakachi thuds his right hand into Johnson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Kaodinakachi throws a head kick that half lands.
Kaodinakachi looks to land a combination but Johnson avoids it well.
Kalu Kaodinakachi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaodinakachi throws a left and a right that both miss

and Johnson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Johnson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Kaodinakachi is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Kaodinakachi just leaning against Johnson, taking a breather.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kaodinakachi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Johnson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kalu Kaodinakachi dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kaodinakachi trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kaodinakachi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Kaodinakachi keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Jamie Johnson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Kaodinakachi tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
