Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Bonifacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Zaitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akira Zaitsu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Zaitsu.
Bonifacio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zaitsu circles away quickly and effectively.
Emilio Bonifacio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bonifacio lands with a nice combination. Zaitsu backs away looking to recover.
Bonifacio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Zaitsu's head.
Bonifacio sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bonifacio stuffs the takedown attempt from Zaitsu. Zaitsu gets slowly back to his feet.

Bonifacio is pressed up against the cage. Zaitsu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bonifacio down to the mat. Bonifacio avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Zaitsu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bonifacio wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Zaitsu has him pressed against the cage.

Zaitsu has Bonifacio pressed against the cage. He pushes Bonifacio back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Zaitsu throws a beautiful elbow that sends Bonifacio crashing to the floor! Zaitsu piles on the pressure with more strikes! Bonifacio is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akira Zaitsu!
