Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dark Side (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Rankin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dark Side looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Side.
Rankin closes the distance but Side moves to the side
and Side counters with a nice body shot.
Side throws a quick inside leg kick.
Rankin tries to clinch
and Side counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rankin's knee momentarily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rankin.
Joe Rankin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick lands from Side.
Side dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rankin. That did some damage!
Side lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Side. Rankin shrugs it off though.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rankin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Side - the referee stops the clock and Rankin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Side. Rankin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Side wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Side is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Side has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dark Side.
Well Side has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
