Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smolder Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Baptiste Reno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Smolder Stoner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Baptiste Reno!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoner misses with a wild combination.
Baptiste Reno tries for a takedown but Stoner circles away easily

and Stoner counters with a single leg into guard. Baptiste Reno didn't expect that.
Stoner throwing strikes from guard but Baptiste Reno blocks nicely.
Baptiste Reno avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Baptiste Reno wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Stoner thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Stoner drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Baptiste Reno manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stoner has Baptiste Reno in his guard.
Baptiste Reno wants to control from the top but Stoner keeps moving.

Stoner is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Baptiste Reno might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stoner haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jean Baptiste Reno wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Stoner counters with a shoot takedown. Baptiste Reno fights it but they end up in guard.

Stoner is stalling in the full guard.
Stoner throws a big right hand that misses.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Baptiste Reno wants to improve his position but Stoner is controlling well.

Stoner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Baptiste Reno's head.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Stoner distracts Baptiste Reno with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Stoner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baptiste Reno swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Stoner counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Baptiste Reno!
Smolder Stoner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Baptiste Reno.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stoner misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smolder Stoner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Smolder Stoner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stoner winds up and cracks Baptiste Reno with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stoner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Well, if Stoner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stoner is nestled in close to Baptiste Reno, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stoner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baptiste Reno with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Baptiste Reno is still in real trouble! Can Stoner finish him?

Baptiste Reno has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stoner is working away from the top position though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stoner is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Baptiste Reno is hurt! He's hurt bad - Stoner fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Baptiste Reno from any more punishment! Congratulations to Stoner! Great finish!

During a confident post fight interview, Smolder Stoner thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
