Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Umato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Nunez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umato comes to the cage accompanied by Insomniac Olympics. Ken Umato has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Umato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Justin Nunez!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunez checks a low kick from Umato.
Umato keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ken Umato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunez tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Umato cracks Nunez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Umato misses with a leg kick
and Nunez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nunez is defended easily by Umato.
Nunez throws a right hand that Umato ducks under and follows up with a left that Umato also avoids with ease.
Nunez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Umato tries to avoid it but Nunez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Umato to the ground. Umato escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ken Umato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Nunez.

Nunez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Umato avoids it really well and circles away.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Umato lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nunez shoots in for a takedown but Umato shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Nunez tries to clinch up but Umato circles away and keeps his distance.
Nunez shoots for a double leg takedown but Umato sprawls well. He's pushed Nunez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Umato buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Umato throws a low kick but Nunez moves out of range easily.
Nunez shoots in for a takedown but Umato shows good takedown defense.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Umato, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
