Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Milo Coors! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleksander Ivanov! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coors drops his hands momentarily and Ivanov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Coors fails with a takedown attempt. Coors shoots in for a takedown but Ivanov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ivanov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ivanov lands a nice looking body shot.
Ivanov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Coors is out of range. Coors swats away the attempt to clinch by Ivanov. Good standup being displayed there by Ivanov as he connects with a hook. Ivanov lands a head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Ivanov closes the distance and clinches. Coors lands with a short shot to the head.
It looks like Aleksander Ivanov has been cut. Ivanov putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Coors in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coors looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milo Coors. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coors is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ivanov is defending well. Ivanov manages to break the clinch.
Ivanov wants to clinch up but Coors keeps it at a distance. Ivanov thuds his right hand into Coors's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. A slow jab from Ivanov misses its intended target. Ivanov motions for Coors to come forward. Ivanov throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ivanov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Coors throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ivanov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Coors is in Ivanov's guard. Coors stopping the sweep attempt from Ivanov. Coors sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ivanov's guard. Coors is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ivanov defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coors is trying to control the action in half guard but Ivanov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Coors maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ivanov could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Coors has cracked it and Ivanov is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Coors!
