And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Nation!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Mccarry as Nation shoots in.

Nation looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Nation trying to control but Mccarry is working from the bottom.
Nation is fighting to break Mccarry's control of his arms but Mccarry is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nation wants to get up but he can't break Mccarry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Nation is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Nation wants to control from the top but Mccarry keeps moving.

Mccarry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nation manages to get himself to full guard.

Nation manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Mccarry has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nation tries for a takedown but Mccarry sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nation avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mccarry closes the distance and pushes Nation back into the cage.

Mccarry lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nation backwards.
Nation is trying to stall.
Mccarry working some nice short punches in the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nation fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dean Mccarry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Nation.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Mccarry lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Nation or not.
Nation misses with a hook from the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Mccarry - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mccarry lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Nation backwards.

Mccarry is struggling to control the position.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Mccarry for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mccarry lands a shoulder strike.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mccarry takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nation dodges the punch combination from Mccarry.
Nation walks into a stiff left hand from Mccarry.
Mccarry slips a jab from Nation.
Nation is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mccarry sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mccarry cracks Nation with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Nation looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mccarry finish him?

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Mccarry knocks Nation out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
