Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Ho is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Ritter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Don Ho!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ritter misses with a takedown attempt - Ho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ritter moves in looking to clinch but Ho pushes him off.

Ho gets caught flat footed, as Ritter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ritter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ritter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ho looks gassed!
Ho tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ritter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ritter tries to score with some ground and pound. Ho controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ho is letting Ritter control him for a moment.
Ritter in side control lands a decent elbow.
Ritter happy to just control the position for now.

Ritter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ho has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ritter cracks Ho with an elbow. That is naaassty.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The strikes coming from Ritter are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ritter lands some shots froms side control.
Ho is looking for a sweep.
Ho wants to control but Ritter postures up.
Ritter throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Ho works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ho on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ritter wants to pass to mount but Ho is defending the position.

Ritter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Ho has managed to free his arm - good work.

Ritter trying to control from half guard but Ho is working away.
Ritter seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Ritter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ho on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ritter is looking to advance position but Ho has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Ritter is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ho throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Ritter can't escape the position.
Ritter is working hard here to advance position.
Ritter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ritter tries to get out of the position.
Ritter swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Ho lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ritter shoots in for a double leg but Ho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ritter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ho as he jumps to the side.

Ritter thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Ho is trying desperately to improve position.
Ritter connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ritter trying to control but Ho is having none of it.

Ho is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ritter lands a heavy elbow.
Ho working to try and regain half guard.
Ritter is landing with some decent strikes but Ho is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Ritter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Ritter is thwarting Ho's attempts to control the position.
Ritter wants to pass the guard but Ho is defending well.

Ritter is trying to work for a kimura but Ho is defending well.
Ho has hold of Ritter's hands but Ritter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Ritter working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Ho's thigh. Ho counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Ritter looking to sit in guard and control but Ho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ho looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ritter wants to hit a switch here but Ho passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ritter there!
Ritter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hugo Ritter will probably get the nod.

Ho fails in his attempt to clinch.
Don Ho is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ritter clinches up against the cage.
Ritter is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Ho is trying to break the clinch but Ritter has him pressed against the cage.
Ritter is looking to break free of the clinch but Ho has double underhooks.
Ritter scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ho wants to stall.
Ritter looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ritter can't get the takedown.
Ho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ritter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ho prevents it.
Ritter is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ho pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Ritter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ho escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ritter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ritter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ho is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ritter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ho is in a horrible position here. Ritter smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ritter is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Ho keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Ritter jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ho is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ho and Ritter has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Hugo Ritter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ho tries to bench press Ritter off him but Ritter keeps the position.
Ritter lands a few punches from side control.
Ho manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ritter trying to control from half guard but Ho is working away.
Don Ho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ritter slips a nice elbow through Ho's hands, connecting with Ho's forehead.
Ho pushes Ritter off looking to stand but Ritter dives back in and keeps control.
Ritter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ritter drops an elbow to the side of Ho's head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hugo Ritter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ritter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
