6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christopher Thomas! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Thomas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Datsik dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thomas. That did some damage! Datsik fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Thomas swings away with a leg kick that misses. A nice leg kick lands there from Datsik. Crazy Datsik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas looking to score a takedown here. Datsik is defending well but Thomas drives through and ends up in Datsik's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
