Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dimitar Zaprqnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dimitar Zaprqnov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Bird! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bird looking to score a takedown here. Zaprqnov is defending well but Bird drives through and ends up in Zaprqnov's guard. Bird is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Bird trying to control but Zaprqnov is working from the bottom. Zaprqnov is looking to stand up but Bird isn't so interested in that idea. Zaprqnov throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Bird wants to control from the top but Zaprqnov keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Alan Bird hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bird is defended easily by Zaprqnov. Bird gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bird lets loose with a powerful body kick. Zaprqnov will feel that in the morning. Some wild striking there from Zaprqnov.
Bird takes a swing at Zaprqnov's ribcage but misses. Zaprqnov blocks a head kick by Bird.
Zaprqnov swats away the attempt to clinch by Bird. Zaprqnov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Bird works Zaprqnov's body with a nice hook. Bird misses with a few strikes there.
Zaprqnov tests Bird's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bird tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zaprqnov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Bird scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Bird slips under a jab. Zaprqnov swats away the attempt to clinch by Bird. Bird uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Zaprqnov. Zaprqnov throws a right and a left that Bird avoids nicely. Zaprqnov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bird moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dimitar Zaprqnov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Zaprqnov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Zaprqnov looks to land a combination. Bird sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Zaprqnov tries to bum rush Bird with a series of wild strikes but Bird uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jab, jab by Zaprqnov - just one landing. Zaprqnov throws a sloppy head kick and Bird moves out of range easily. Bird stuffs the takedown. Zaprqnov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bird looking for a takedown. Zaprqnov tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bird manages to pull guard.
Bird looks winded! Zaprqnov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Zaprqnov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bird on the ground. Zaprqnov throws a big elbow that misses. Zaprqnov trying to control but Bird is working from the bottom. Bird wants to sweep here but Zaprqnov controlling him for the moment. Zaprqnov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Zaprqnov trying to control the position from guard on top but Bird is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bird uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bird throws a right and a left that Zaprqnov avoids nicely. Bird gets tackled into the cage by Zaprqnov. Zaprqnov maintains the clinch. Bird breaks the clinch.
Bird dives in and grabs Zaprqnov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zaprqnov pushes down on Bird's head and hops out. Dimitar Zaprqnov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Bird. Zaprqnov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A solid leg kick lands there for Zaprqnov.
Bird slaps away a takedown attempt from Zaprqnov, before circling back to the center of the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zaprqnov has a takedown stuffed. Zaprqnov misses with a takedown attempt - Bird sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zaprqnov misses with a double jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dimitar Zaprqnov dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Zaprqnov pushes Bird away with a front kick. Bird drives through with a takedown into guard. Zaprqnov is looking to stand up but Bird isn't so interested in that idea. Bird works over Zaprqnov with some ground and pound from guard. Zaprqnov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Zaprqnov working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bird has passed into half guard!
Bird is looking to take a break and control but Zaprqnov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bird passes to full mount! Zaprqnov is desperately trying to improve his position but Bird has a good base and remains in mount. Zaprqnov taking shots to the head. Bird with good strikes from the mount here! Bird lands with some strikes. A nice elbow there by Bird.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bird working Zaprqnov over with strikes here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zaprqnov working to try and regain half guard.
Bird lands a heavy elbow.
Zaprqnov is rocked! Bird controlling the position easily from mount. Oh Zaprqnov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Oooooh, big shot lands for Bird! Zaprqnov is hurt baaadly! Bird is firing away with more strikes - Zaprqnov is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alan Bird!
