Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Potkukelkka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Art Vandelay!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potkukelkka looks to score with a jab to the body but Vandelay is just out of range.
Potkukelkka misses with a body shot.
Vandelay wants to land a leg kick but Potkukelkka is out of range.
Potkukelkka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Vandelay throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Potkukelkka missing with a left hand there. Vandelay was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vandelay buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vandelay uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Potkukelkka.

Vandelay gets caught flat footed, as Potkukelkka shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Potkukelkka tries to free his leg and advance position but Vandelay is retaining full guard.
Vandelay is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Vandelay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vandelay swings around for an armbar but Potkukelkka sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vandelay's guard.

Vandelay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Potkukelkka's head.
Vandelay is looking to take a break and control but Potkukelkka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A solid leg kick lands there for Vandelay.

Potkukelkka throws a nice inside leg kick.
Vandelay lands with a kick to the ribs.
Potkukelkka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vandelay moves away.
Potkukelkka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vandelay.
Potkukelkka swats away the attempt to clinch by Vandelay.
Potkukelkka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vandelay.
Vandelay chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Vandelay turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Vandelay throws a low kick but Potkukelkka moves out of range easily.

Potkukelkka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vandelay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Potkukelkka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vandelay has managed to get both his arms back between Potkukelkka's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Potkukelkka will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
