Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Corrida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Burrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corrida's entrance music is Shadowhunter. A fine choice. Burrell has chosen Can't Touch This as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Corrida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Stanley Burrell ! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corrida avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Corrida has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Burrell . The fighters circling - Corrida throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Burrell tries to land a leg kick but Corrida saw it coming and moves away.
Corrida moves out of range of the body kick from Burrell .
Burrell throws a lazy head kick and Corrida counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Burrell throws a low kick, looking for Corrida's leg but Corrida calmly moves out of range. Nice shot lands for Burrell . Corrida checks a leg kick. Burrell misses with a straight left. Corrida circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Burrell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Corrida. Burrell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Corrida moves away. Burrell connects with an inside leg kick. Burrell lands with a cross. Burrell scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Burrell lands a front kick. Burrell missing with a left hand there. Corrida was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Burrell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Burrell misses with a wild body shot. Burrell misses with a left hand and Corrida counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Burrell 's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Corrida tries to free his leg and advance position but Burrell is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corrida passes Burrell 's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Corrida wants to take a breather but Burrell is having none of it. Corrida stalling away here and it's allowed Burrell to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Burrell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Corrida trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Corrida trying to control but Burrell is working from the bottom. Corrida works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corrida is thwarting Burrell 's attempts to control the position. Corrida is pressing down on Burrell 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Burrell is holding on for now. Burrell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Corrida is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Corrida is working for a submission of some sort.
Burrell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corrida is looking to take a break and control but Burrell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Corrida controlling the action here. Corrida looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corrida prevents Burrell from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Stanley Burrell will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Corrida throws a lazy head kick and Burrell counters with a lovely shot to the body. Burrell swings and misses with a shot to the body so Corrida counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Corrida is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Corrida wants to control from the top but Burrell keeps moving. Burrell keeping full guard, as Corrida tries to pass. Corrida controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Juan Corrida wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Sloppy strikes from Corrida. Those never looked like landing. Burrell fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Corrida. Burrell checks a leg kick. Burrell scores with a jab. Corrida uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burrell . Corrida uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Burrell . Burrell looks to score with a jab to the body but Corrida is just out of range. Stanley Burrell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burrell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Corrida was well out of range. Poor timing from Burrell .
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corrida misses the shot to the body. Corrida moves out of range of the leg kick from Burrell . Burrell takes a swing at Corrida's ribcage but misses. Burrell misses with an uppercut
and Corrida finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Burrell scores with a jab to the body. Burrell misses with a body kick. Corrida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Burrell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Burrell lands with a hook. Corrida tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Burrell connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Burrell misses its intended target. Burrell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Corrida in his tracks. A slapping leg kick lands for Burrell .
An inside leg kick lands from Burrell . Burrell moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. A looping hook to the body misses from Burrell . Corrida does a little dance to reset his feet. Corrida takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Burrell scores with a nice strike. Some bone on bone action there as Corrida checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Corrida. Burrell misses with a kick to the body.
Burrell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Corrida takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Burrell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burrell getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Burrell lets loose with a powerful body kick. Corrida will feel that in the morning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stanley Burrell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Burrell misses with a wild body shot. Burrell lands with an uppercut that bounces Corrida off the cage and back into range. Burrell throws a front kick aimed at Corrida's knee but Corrida avoids it well. A jab from Burrell misses. Burrell feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Corrida's calf. Burrell dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Corrida. That did some damage! Burrell scoring well with a low kick there.
Corrida ducks under a wild hook from Burrell . Burrell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Burrell misses with a body shot
and Corrida counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corrida stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burrell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Burrell trying to control the position.
Burrell wants to sweep but no luck. Corrida sitting in guard here, content to control. Corrida pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burrell is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Corrida won't allow Burrell to sweep him here. Juan Corrida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Corrida takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Burrell tries to close the distance and clinch but Corrida swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Burrell misses with a leg kick so Corrida counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Corrida pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burrell is keeping the position for now. Burrell keeping moving, preventing Corrida from controlling successfully. This has been an exciting period of action! Corrida wants to pass the guard but Burrell is keeping the position. Corrida is looking to advance position but Burrell has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corrida keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Burrell trying to control but Corrida is having none of it. Corrida regains half guard. Burrell is taking a breather. Corrida says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Corrida keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corrida is looking for a sweep. Burrell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Burrell works his foot free and advances to mount. Corrida is desperately trying to improve his position but Burrell has a good base and remains in mount. Burrell trying to control but Corrida is having none of it. Corrida sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Corrida looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Juan Corrida showed his dominance in that final round. I think Burrell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
