Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Parker Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Parker Park! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Alves! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves fails in his attempt to clinch. Alves wants to clinch. Alves throws a push kick but Park slaps the foot to one side. Alves tries for a takedown but Park sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Alves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Park is controlling Alves's position as best he can from this difficult position. Alves wants to control but Park is keeping him busy. Park regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Park is pulling down on Alves's head. It's preventing any offense from Alves, at least for the moment. Alves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Park is on top in guard.
Alves is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Park drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Alves gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Alves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Alves.

Alves is working for takedown but Park is calmly controlling the position for now. Alves with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Park changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alves fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Park wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Alves with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Alves turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alves manages to end up in side control. Alves looks gassed! Park struggling a bit here. Park manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Park slows the pace down in half guard. Alves missing with punches from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Park seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is trying to stand up here but Park is controlling him well. Park is looking for a kimura but Alves is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Park to get the leverage. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Park seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alves for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Park wants to pass to mount but Alves is defending the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Alves wants to control but Park is keeping busy and won't allow it. Park stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Alves wants to clinch and Park counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Park takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Park decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Park forces Alves back against the cage and clinches. Park tries to land a knee to the head but Alves blocks with his arms.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alves tries to land knees in the clinch but Park avoids the damage to the body. A head punch blocked on the inside by Park. Park breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Park moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alves on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Park. Park obviously looking to wear him down.
Park throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Park throws a wild body kick that Alves sees coming a mile off. Alves tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Park counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Park decides to stand up. Alves takes a kick to the side of the head. Park pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Parker Park is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alves with a poor takedown and Park counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Park gets to his feet - Alves follows without any prompting. Park shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Park controlling from the full mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alves can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Park with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Park controlling the position easily from mount. Alves tries to hold on but Park postures up. Park looking to control and managing it successfully. A nice elbow there by Park.

Alves defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Park. Park unloading with bombs! Park with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The referee warns Alves that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Park. Park controlling from mount. Park fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Park putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Alves wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. You can see the frustration on Alves's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Park lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Alves hold on?!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Park stands up over Alves, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Alves wants to stand but Park is controlling the position. Park controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Alves is looking to stand up but Park isn't so interested in that idea. Alves wants to control but Park passes easily into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Park prevents Alves from improving his position. Park is tying to control. Alves wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Park slips a nice elbow through Alves's hands, connecting with Alves's forehead. Alves is trying to get back to full guard. Alves trying to hold on to Park's head to control him but Park postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Park throws out a loose jab but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it. Alves takes one on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alves tries to clinch but Park moves away and Park counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Alves is rocked! Park rushes Alves and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Alves tries to land knees in the clinch but Park avoids the damage to the body. Park gets underhooks to prevent Alves's takedown attempt.
Parker Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Alves. Alves takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Alves taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Park lands a nice elbow. Park is pressed up against the cage. Alves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Park down to the mat. Park avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alves chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Park can pounce on him.
Park feints and then cracks Alves's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Alves down. Alves drops his hands momentarily and Park takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Park drives through with a takedown into guard. Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Park controls the pace. Alves is trying to control the position but Park postures up. Alves pulls Park in to control the position. Alves is looking to stand up but Park isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Park wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position. Park stops Alves from standing up. Park thows a big elbow that misses. Park trying to control the position from guard on top but Alves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alves checks a low kick from Park. Park throws a head kick that misses. Park clinches but Alves breaks the clinch and Alves counters with a low kick, right behind Park 's knee. Park misses with a body shot.
Alves lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Alves clinches but Park breaks the clinch and Park counters with a low kick, right behind Alves 's knee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves clinches up with Park and pushes him back against the cage. Alves lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Alves tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Park manages to break the clinch.
Park feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alves wants to stand and escape but Park is having none of it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.
Park lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alves! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Park sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that's the end of the fight! Parker Park showed his dominance in that final round. Well Park has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
