PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlade Tintor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Silva!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vlade Tintor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with an uppercut. Tintor saw that one coming.
Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silva, right into the meat.
Tintor feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Silva sprawling to the canvas! Silva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tintor finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tintor lands with a cross.
Silva is rocked!
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tintor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva throws a head kick but Tintor moves out of range.
Tintor darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Silva's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Tintor before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vlade Tintor!
Vlade Tintor is the new light heavyweight champion!
In defeat, Ricardo Silva stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to thank fans for come out. I wanted to win, to finish fight. I will be back.'.
