Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Mario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keha Anoki!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Anoki.
Keha Anoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anoki throws a hook but Mario avoids it easily.
Anoki scores with a nice head shot.
Anoki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mario shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anoki as he jumps to the side.
Anoki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mario.
Mario uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anoki.
Mario ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Anoki scores with a sloppy right hand. Mario should have avoided that one.
Anoki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Anoki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Anoki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mario.

Mario closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Anoki did well to prevent Mario getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mario is working for a kimura but Anoki is defending it quite comfortably.

Mario is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Anoki is just riding it out for now. Mario eventually gives up the hold.
Anoki looks like he's trying to stand up.
Anoki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mario. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anoki is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Mario maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Anoki could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mario has cracked it and Anoki is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mario!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Carlos Mario!
Keha Anoki spoke after the fight, saying 'My next fight I vow to be stronger.'.
