The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith gets caught napping as Velazquez dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Velazquez advances position into side control!
Velazquez lands a few punches from side control.

Smith seems a little lost for a moment, as Velazquez dominates the positioning.

Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Velazquez looks up at the clock and then as Smith takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Velazquez smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Velazquez finish him?
Velazquez cracks Smith with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Velazquez immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Smith is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Velazquez!
