Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Zapeka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hugh DeMann !
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zapeka shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zapeka showed some decent athleticism there.
DeMann tries to roll over but Zapeka keeps him under control.

DeMann actively working from the bottom here.
DeMann gets back to full guard.
DeMann lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zapeka!

That's one minute gone in the round.

DeMann jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Zapeka is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Zapeka and DeMann has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
DeMann misses with the ground and pound.
Zapeka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zapeka tries to get out of the position.
DeMann in side control, just content to control the action for now.
DeMann trying to control the position but Zapeka is working away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

DeMann thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Zapeka is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
DeMann wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zapeka keeps working.

DeMann is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Zapeka looks calm but he's in trouble here. DeMann gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Zapeka is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! DeMann lets go of the hold and Zapeka can pop his arm back in it's socket.
