Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilpatrick comes into the arena with Gentleman blaring out of the sound system. Dan Butcher will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Butcher!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Kilpatrick there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Butcher misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Butcher tries to get to full guard but Kilpatrick has control of the leg.
Butcher wants to control but Kilpatrick is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Butcher lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Luke Kilpatrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilpatrick lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kilpatrick is defended easily by Butcher.

Butcher throws a hook but Kilpatrick avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Kilpatrick will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kilpatrick shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A clash of legs there as Butcher blocks the low kick.
Kilpatrick fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Butcher is out of range.

Kilpatrick lands with a nice combination. Butcher backs away looking to recover.
Dan Butcher seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Butcher thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Kilpatrick if he has to take too many more of those.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kilpatrick throws a leg kick which misses Butcher's front leg but catches the back leg as Butcher tries to avoid it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kilpatrick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Butcher.
Kilpatrick feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Butcher's calf.
A bone on bone clash there as Butcher blocks the leg kick.
Kilpatrick tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Butcher is able to avoid easily.

Butcher stuns Kilpatrick with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Butcher walks into a left hand.
Butcher is still on wobbly legs! Can Kilpatrick finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Kilpatrick lands a beautiful left hook that drops Butcher. Butcher tries to recover but Kilpatrick is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Butcher lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Kilpatrick!

During a confident post fight interview, Luke Kilpatrick thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
