Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukas Gottfridsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox comes to the cage accompanied by Razormind Remix. On his way into the cage it seems that Jesse Cox has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jesse Cox seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lukas Gottfridsson! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cox is countered with a crisp right hand from Gottfridsson that sends him to the canvas! Gottfridsson follows him to the mat into side control.
Cox is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cox is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gottfridsson is controlling him well. Oh Cox is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gottfridsson trying to control the position but Cox is working away. Gottfridsson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cox rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gottfridsson's guard! Nice work there by Cox! Cox seems to have got his legs back now. Cox looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Cox won't allow Gottfridsson to sweep him here. Cox scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Cox tries to free his leg and advance position but Gottfridsson is retaining full guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Jesse Cox wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Gottfridsson throws an overhand right that lands on Cox's shoulder, as Cox tries to avoid the shot. Gottfridsson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cox dives in and scores a takedown into Gottfridsson's guard. Gottfridsson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gottfridsson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cox defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gottfridsson's guard. Cox controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gottfridsson can do anything to dispel that myth. Gottfridsson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Cox sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gottfridsson's guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cox in particular looking to stall. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gottfridsson wants to control but Cox is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cox stalling.

Cox loses concentration momentarily and Gottfridsson pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Cox crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Gottfridsson finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
