PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Lavrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Foul Play (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Play is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Simon Says-Pharaohe Monche. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vadim Lavrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, Foul Play!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavrov throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Play.
Lavrov jabs at Play's body.
Play is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Play looks to score with a jab to the body but Lavrov is just out of range.
Lavrov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lavrov checks a low kick from Play.
Lavrov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Play misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lavrov.
A head kick misses from Lavrov.
Play does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lavrov throws a series of punches but Play moves out of range.

Play drops Lavrov with a beautiful combination! Lavrov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Play is looking for the KO!

It looks like Vadim Lavrov has been cut.

Lavrov lands a left and a right that send Play crashing to the mat, dazed. Lavrov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Play is rocked!
Lavrov blocks a low kick nicely.
Play thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lavrov if he has to take too many more of those.

Oooooh!!! Lavrov has knocked Play down with a huge combo! Lavrov steps away and waves a wobbly Play back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Play is still on wobbly legs! Can Lavrov finish him?
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Play crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lavrov - the referee stops the clock and Play gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lavrov. Play manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Play wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lavrov looks to land a combination but Play avoids it well.
Play throws a push kick but Lavrov slaps the foot to one side.
Play seems to have recovered his senses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Play throws a body punch but Lavrov moves out of range.
Play missing with a left hand there. Lavrov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Play works Lavrov's body with a nice hook.
Play drops his hands momentarily and Lavrov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Play fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lavrov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Lavrov is breathing heavily.
Play swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lavrov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Play's knee momentarily.
Play ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Lavrov blocks a head kick by Play.
Play tests Lavrov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Play cracks Lavrov with a right hand to the side of the head.

Play lands a big right hand that sends Lavrov crashing to the mat! Play stays standing though and waves Lavrov back to his feet!

Lavrov is rocked!
Play avoids the head kick by Lavrov.
Oh Lavrov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Play checks a leg kick.
Lavrov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Play comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Play scores with a jab to the head.
Lavrov circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Play. Lavrov falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Play!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Foul Play!
