Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent comes to the cage accompanied by Rooster by Alice In Chains. Tommy Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with the combination.
Kent looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.

Kent gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
Kent is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jones is defending well.
Kent avoids a wild elbow strike from Jones.
Jones is looking to control Kent's arms but Kent gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jones has his back to the cage.
Jones working hard to break the clinch.
Jones trying to land knees to the body.
Kent tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A bit of stalling here from Kent.

The ground and pound from Kent seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is trying to buck Kent off.
Jones is trying to control Kent's posture but Kent avoids it.

Kent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones tries to roll over but Kent keeps him under control.
Kent trying to pass the guard but Jones defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kent slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.
Kent stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
Kent slows the pace down in half guard.

Kent wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcus Kent just wasn't active enough.
Jones tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kent counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kent avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kent moves into the clinch.
Kent avoiding damage as Jones throws knees to the body.
Kent wants a takedown but no success here.

Kent breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones tries to clinch but Kent is having none of it.
Tommy Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kent throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Kent back into the cage.
Jones throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Kent tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kent breaks the clinch.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones wants to clinch.
Kent fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kent misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A thudding body kick lands there by Jones!
Kent jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jones tries to clinch
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Kent counters with a lovely shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Kent will probably get the nod.
That's time! Kent's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jones wants to clinch up but Kent keeps it at a distance.

Kent shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Kent from controlling successfully.
Kent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kent is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jones keeping full guard, as Kent tries to pass.
Kent won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
Kent in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kent trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Kent is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones wants to sweep here but Kent controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcus Kent.
Jones darts in trying to clinch

and Kent counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones wants to control but Kent is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kent thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jones controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Kent has control of the leg.
Jones is trying to control but can't.

Kent is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.
Kent throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Kent sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jones defending well though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kent is working away from the top position though.
Jones is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kent jumps into side control!
Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kent trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones taking a bit of punishment here - Kent scoring with strikes.
Kent is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kent has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jones!
Jones wants to hold on but Kent pushes him away.

Kent fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Kent connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones is working to get back to half guard.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kent looking to control and managing it successfully.

Kent is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.
Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Kent has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jones should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kent has tightened it up now! Jones should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marcus Kent!
Marcus Kent decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
