Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katsuro Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Denke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denke has chosen Runnin With The Devil as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Katsuro Sato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Denke! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sato. Sato tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Denke looks to throw a body kick and Sato counters with a shoot takedown. Denke fights it but they end up in guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Denke looking to control.
Denke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sato trying to control but Denke is working from the bottom. Denke working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sato. Sato trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Denke pulls Sato in close to his closed guard and prevents Sato from doing any damage or advancing position. Sato has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Karl Denke was stalling too much, according to the referee. Sato throws a leg kick and Denke counters with a good low kick that Sato was not able to check. Denke gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Sato being controlled here momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sato working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Denke is controlling Sato's posture. Denke keeping moving, preventing Sato from controlling successfully.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Karl Denke hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Denke misses with a looping left. Denke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sato pinned against the cage. Sato gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denke thows a leg kick but Sato checks it and Sato counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Denke! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Denke tries to bench press Sato off him but Sato keeps the position. Sato landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Denke tries to improve position but can't. Sato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Denke keeps working. Sato working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sato controls the position. Denke is trying to control Sato's posture but Sato avoids it. Denke keeps Sato under control for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sato sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Denke is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Denke is trying to control Sato's posture but Sato avoids it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sato working the ground and pound but Denke is defending the strikes. Sato lands an elbow. Sato working the head and body with strikes. Denke is looking for a sweep. Denke wants to control but Sato postures up. Sato thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Denke managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sato.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Denke manages to get back to half guard. Sato passes into side control, despite Denke's attempt to control the position.
Sato has control of an arm but Denke manages to advance to Sato's back! Denke is trying to stick to Sato's back but Sato is turning into Denke. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Denke's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sato. Sato trying to control but Denke is working from the bottom. Denke is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Denke seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Sato stays in close to Denke's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Katsuro Sato dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sato does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Denke fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sato misses with a low kick.
Donk. Denke catches Sato right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Katsuro Sato has been cut. Sato fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Denke manages to avoid it. Denke scores with a shot to the body.
Sato scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Denke feints and then cracks Sato's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sato down. Denke has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sato finds it's way round the side to connect with Denke's head. Sato chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Denke can pounce on him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Denke throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sato misses with a low kick. Denke lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sato's sensitive parts. Denke throws out a leg kick but Sato moves out of range and Denke only half commits. Karl Denke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sloppy strikes from Denke. Those never looked like landing. Denke throws a front kick aimed at Sato's knee but Sato avoids it well. Sato ducks under a wild hook from Denke. Denke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sato throws a body punch but Denke moves out of range. Sato connects with a body shot. Denke throws a leg kick that is checked and Sato counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sato is pushing down on Denke's leg trying to pass to half guard. Denke is fighting to maintain full guard but Sato has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denke trying to hold on to Sato's head to control him but Sato postures up.
Denke wants to get back to his feet. Denke is looking to control Sato's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Denke avoid being mounted? Sato takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sato wants to control but Denke is keeping him busy. Sato missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sato lands a nice short elbow. Sato tries to pass to full mount but Denke defends it. Denke controlling the position well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Sato is thwarting Denke's attempts to control the position. Sato seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sato is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Denke has managed to free his arm - good work. Sato thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Denke's head. Sato thows a huge punch but Denke dodges it nicely.
Denke wants to control but Sato is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sato is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Denke is trying to maintain the position but Sato is very close to passing his half guard. Denke blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sato. Sato works his way into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Denke tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ground and pound from Sato seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Sato scores with a couple of short elbows. Denke manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Denke working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sato is trying to maintain the position but Denke is very close to passing his half guard. Denke lands with a punch from half guard. Denke tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sato knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sato trying to control here.
Sato looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Katsuro Sato will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Katsuro Sato's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sato misses with a body kick. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Denke. Denke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Denke connects with a solid leg kick. Denke throws a right hand that Sato ducks under and follows up with a left that Sato also avoids with ease. Sato misses with a low kick. Sato lands a really nice looking cross but Denke seems unphased.
Sato avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sato misses with an uppercut
and Denke counters with a nice leg kick. Sato slips a jab from Denke. Good standup being displayed there by Denke as he connects with a hook. Sato pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Karl Denke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Denke catches Sato with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Denke dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Denke looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Denke checks a leg kick. Denke scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Denke displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sato. This has been an exciting period of action! Sato thumps Denke with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sato blocks a head kick by Denke.
Sato throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Denke's waist but Denke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sato off to one side. Denke thows a left - swing and a miss! Denke tries to score with a low kick but Sato moves his leg out of the way. Denke on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sato. Sato obviously looking to wear him down.
Denke misses with a body shot.
Sato shoots in looking for a takedown. Denke tries to sprawl out of it but Sato keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Denke manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Katsuro Sato. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sato misses with a hook from the clinch. Sato drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Denke. Denke tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Sato lands a nice uppercut. Denke swings wildly with an uppercut but Sato uses good head movement to avoid it. Sato lands a hook that snaps the head of Denke backwards. Sato tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Denke lands a nice uppercut. Nice body punch from Denke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Denke blocks an uppercut.
Denke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Denke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sato digs a good hook to Denke's body.
Sato getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sato scores with a nice head shot. Denke throws a right and a left that both miss. Nice defenses there by Sato. Sato misses the jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sato slips under a jab. Denke lands a lovely overhand right.
And that's the end of the fight! Karl Denke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sato has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
