Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Stapleton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryo Narushima! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circle momentarily. Stapleton darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Narushima tries to clinch there but Stapleton circles away.
A swing and a miss from Stapleton. Narushima pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stapleton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Narushima misses with a head kick.
Stapleton cracks Narushima with a good jab. Narushima tries to clinch but Stapleton moves out of range. Narushima doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Narushima ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Narushima clinches with his opponent.
Stapleton stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Narushima is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Stapleton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Narushimas head. Narushima tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stapleton avoids it. Stapleton leaning against his opponent.
Stapleton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Stapleton misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Narushima misses with a knee to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stapleton blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Narushima is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stapleton is keeping busy. Stapleton goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Stapleton throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Stapleton misses with a body punch.
Stapleton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Narushima misses with a knee strike.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Stapleton is working Narushima over against the cage. A short right from Stapleton on the inside. Narushima using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Stapleton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stapleton throws a punch but it's blocked by Narushima. Stapleton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stapleton feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Narushima sprawling to the canvas! Narushima rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Stapleton finish him?!
Narushima is rocked!
It looks like Ryo Narushima has been cut. Stapleton connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Narushima covering up! Stapleton comes in with a big uppercut and Narushima goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jeremy Stapleton! Our winner, Jeremy Stapleton, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
