Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patch Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Subedei Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Patch Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Subedei Khan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses with a looping right.
Khan lands with a straight right. Thomas didn't see that one coming.
Thomas slips under a jab from Khan.
Khan moves in looking to clinch but Thomas pushes him off.
Khan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Thomas closes the distance and clinches up with Khan, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes Khan against the cage but Khan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Khan enables Thomas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Khan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan is looking to stand up but Thomas isn't so interested in that idea.

Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khan's waist but Khan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thomas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khan pinned against the cage. Khan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thomas remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patch Thomas dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Thomas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Khan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Thomas looks up at the clock and then as Khan takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Thomas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Thomas scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Khan is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Thomas can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

After winning the bout, Patch Thomas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
