Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Finch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kristofir James! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.

Finch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Finch looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Finch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. James controls Finch momentarily but Finch frees himself. Finch trying to control but James is working from the bottom.

![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/refstandup.gif) The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Good work by Finch as he checks the leg kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Finch, right into the meat.
James throws a shot from downtown. Finch moves away and avoids it. Finch slips a straight right by James. James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Finch. Finch throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Finch gets a clinch.
Finch has James pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Finch pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending James tumbling to the mat - Finch dives into James's guard.

Finch trying to control but James is working from the bottom. Finch passes James's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth. James is in trouble now - Finch has advanced to mount!
Finch is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Finch manages to break the clinch.
James works Finch's body with a nice hook. James drops Finch with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Finch looks back up at him and smiles so James waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Jake Finch has been cut. James just misses with a punch to the body.
Finch ducks under a wild hook from James. Finch avoids the body shot from James.
A low kick from James misses
and Finch counters into the clinch. Nicely done. James wants a takedown.
Finch pulls James into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Finch looking to control.

James avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Finch is trying to keep James in close.
Finch wants to sweep here but James controlling him for the moment.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Finch looking to hit a scissor sweep but James is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Finch dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jake Finch's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Nice defenses there by Finch. James drops Finch with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Finch! James dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
