Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Warren G Benz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casy Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benz comes to the cage accompanied by Gaff's Eulogy by Andrew Bayer. Carver is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bon Jovi - It's my life. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Casy Carver was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Warren G Benz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casy Carver!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Benz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carver has a takedown stuffed.
Benz throws a hook but Carver avoids it easily.
Benz thuds his right hand into Carver's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Carver misses with a takedown

and Benz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Carver misses with a knee strike.
Carver tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Benz just stands there and leans against the cage.
Warren G Benz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Casy Carver.
Carver tries to score a body lock takedown but Benz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Carver is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Benz gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Carver wants to break the clinch but can't.

Benz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Benz throws a hook to the side of Carver's head but Carver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Benz throws a jab but it's blocked by Carver.
Benz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carver sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Benz looks to land a left hand but Carver moved out of range nicely.

and Carver holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Carver is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Carver swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Benz is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Carver's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Carver drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Benz gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Benz has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Carver is trying to keep an underhook but Benz manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Benz is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Benz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Carver has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Benz works his way into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Benz decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Carver tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Benz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Benz turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Nice takedown defense from Benz. No joy for Carver on that attempt.
Benz scores with a jab. Carver acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Benz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Carver.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carver looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Benz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Carver backs up against the cage.

It looks like Casy Carver has been cut.

and Benz scores with a counter punch that sends Carver to the canvas! Benz smells blood - he's punishing Carver with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Carver has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
