Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peltier as he avoids it easily. Roman Peltier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alexander misses with a double jab.
Peltier moves into range and clinches up with Alexander. Alexander lands a damaging elbow. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Alexander pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Alexander gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peltier to score an easy takedown into full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Alexander working a defensive guard here.

Alexander utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Peltier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alexander manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Peltier has Alexander in his guard.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Peltier lands strikes from half guard. Peltier lands strikes from half guard. Peltier seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Peltier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alexander defends it well. Peltier lands with a punch from half guard.

Peltier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Peltier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Peltier is trying to work for a kimura but Alexander is defending well.
Alexander wants to get back to full guard. Peltier content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peltier on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peltier winds up and cracks Alexander with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Peltier should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Alexander on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Peltier is working for a submission of some sort.

Alexander tries to control Peltier's body but Peltier pushes him off. Alexander squirms to his side and now Peltier has his back! Peltier is punishing Alexander with some ground and pound. Peltier trying to control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peltier has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Alexander has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Roman Peltier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
