PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tetsuo Kawakada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Killer comes to the cage accompanied by AC DC shoot 2 thrill. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Killer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tetsuo Kawakada!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killer tries to land a leg kick but Kawakada saw it coming and moves away.
A jab from Killer finds it's way through Kawakada's defenses.
Killer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kawakada throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Killer throws a left and a right that both miss

and Kawakada counters with a single leg into guard. Killer didn't expect that.

Killer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kawakada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kawakada manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kawakada got a little sloppy there for a moment and Killer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kawakada has managed to get both his arms back between Killer's legs - danger averted.
Killer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kawakada is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Killer working for a triangle but Kawakada defends it easily.
Kawakada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Killer trying to keep a closed guard but Kawakada is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Killer wants to sweep here but Kawakada controlling him for the moment.

Killer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kawakada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kawakada manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kawakada avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Killer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kawakada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kawakada passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kawakada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Killer keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kawakada controls the position from side control.
Killer is not content to let Kawakada control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Killer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Killer is working hard here to advance position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Killer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kawakada asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Killer is looking to regain half guard here but Kawakada keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pat Killer will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kawakada takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kawakada thuds his right hand into Killer's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kawakada tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Killer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kawakada is looking to score with low kicks.
Kawakada wants to clinch.
Killer misses with a double jab
and Kawakada counters with a low kick, right behind Killer 's knee.
Kawakada moves forwards but Killer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Killer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kawakada manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kawakada is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Killer.


Kawakada is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Killer darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kawakada is still on wobbly legs! Can Killer finish him?
Pat Killer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Killer drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Kawakada right on the button. Kawakada goes down! Killer follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Killer gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pat Killer!
Pat Killer very nearly forgot to thank Sparta Fightware amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
