And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Paulson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Skrylvia napping and manages to drive through into side control!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Skrylvia can't do much from the bottom here.

Paulson decides to stand back up.
Skrylvia is looking to clinch but Paulson is avoiding it.

Skrylvia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paulson circles away quickly and effectively.

Paulson closes the distance and pushes Skrylvia back into the cage.

Paulson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Skrylvia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Paulson's guard.

Paulson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Skrylvia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Paulson is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Skrylvia as he works his way to full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Paulson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Skrylvia to the ground. Paulson is now in Skrylvia's guard.
Skrylvia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Skrylvia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paulson is controlling him.

Skrylvia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Paulson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paulson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Skrylvia tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Paulson is in Skrylvia's guard.

Skrylvia manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Skrylvia is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Paulson is defending well for now.

Chim Skrylvia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paulson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Skrylvia won't allow Paulson to sweep him here.

We're going to have a standup here because Chim Skrylvia wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Paulson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Skrylvia pushes Paulson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Paulson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Paulson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Skrylvia scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Skrylvia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Paulson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I've got Paulson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
