Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bj Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Shackleford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rusty Shackleford will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia misses with a takedown
enabling Shackleford to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Bj Maia has been cut.
Shackleford rushes Maia and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maia changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shackleford fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Horrible takedown by Maia or perhaps it was just good defense by Shackleford which made him look bad.
