Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Crain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Timmy Crain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wade Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sapp clinches up against the cage.
Crain has Sapp pressed against the cage, preventing Sapp from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Crain keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sapp's efforts to push away.

Sapp manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Sapp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sapp escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Crain landing with the ground and pound.

Crain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sapp swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Our spies down at at Montreal Elite Gym inform us that Sapp has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crain tries to stand but Sapp is controlling from the bottom.
Crain throws a big elbow that misses.
Sapp is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sapp is still trying to improve position.
Crain wants to get up but he can't break Sapp's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Crain preventing the sweep.
Crain is in close to Sapp's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Crain passes into half guard.
Sapp is looking for a sweep. Crain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Crain is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sapp is looking to improve his position.
Sapp is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Crain is looking to take a break and control but Sapp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Crain tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sapp.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Crain wants to work for an arm triangle but Sapp is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sapp is looking to control Crain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sapp avoid being mounted?

Sapp slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Crain is looking to stand up but Sapp won't let him.
Crain wants to control from the top but Sapp keeps moving.
Crain wanted to stand there but Sapp had control of the position.
Sapp seems keen to control Crain's posture.
Crain tries to stand but Sapp is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crain loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Crain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Crain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sapp is keeping the position for now.
Crain postures up and lands a big shot to Sapp's brow.
Sapp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Crain!
Sapp trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Crain is looking to improve his position but Sapp isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crain tries to lock up and control but Sapp gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wade Sapp will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wade Sapp has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sapp trying to control but Crain is working from the bottom.

Crain looking for a guillotine here but Sapp defends easily.
Crain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sapp is stalling in the full guard.

Sapp trying to control the position from guard on top but Crain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sapp prevents Crain from getting back to his feet.
Sapp tries to free his leg and advance position but Crain is retaining full guard.
Sapp stops Crain from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sapp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sapp wants to control but Crain is keeping him busy.
Crain struggling a bit here.

Crain stops Sapp from passing to mount.
Crain is trying to get back to his feet.
Sapp tries to score with some ground and pound. Crain controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Sapp is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Crain is trying to escape and Sapp transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Crain is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sapp! Very nice indeed!
