Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Bocek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bocek comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Bocek!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bocek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Strange manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Strange tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bocek sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Strange somewhat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bocek.
Strange tries to work over Bocek's front leg with a kick but Bocek checks it.
Bocek checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bocek takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Bocek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Strange's waist but Strange gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bocek off to one side.

Strange wants to control from the top but Bocek keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strange is looking to take a break and control but Bocek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Strange wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bocek, who protects the arm well.

You can see the frustration on Bocek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bocek parries the strikes from Strange easily there. Strange is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bocek to escape.
Bocek is looking for a sweep.
Strange controls the position.
Strange looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bocek manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Strange is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bocek's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bocek's back!
Strange is controlling the position but Bocek somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Strange seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bocek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Strange is nestled in close to Bocek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bocek wants to control but Strange is keeping busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Strange shoots in for a takedown but Bocek shows good takedown defense.
Bocek fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bocek shoots in looking for a takedown but Strange manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bocek's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Strange swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bocek shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Strange as he avoids it easily.
Strange will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bocek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Strange avoids it really well and circles away.

Strange wants to free his trapped foot but Bocek is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Strange prevents Bocek from improving his position.

Strange wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bocek keeps working.

Bocek is bucking up trying to escape but Strange cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Strange can't control as he wanted to and Bocek manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Strange seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bocek for as long as he can get away with.

Strange is looking to advance position but Bocek won't allow it.
Bocek wants to improve his position but Strange is controlling well.
Strange slips a nice elbow through Bocek's hands, connecting with Bocek's forehead.
Strange passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bocek!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bocek is desperately trying to improve his position but Strange has a good base and remains in mount.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well Strange has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
