Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Maynard!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard connects with a high kick.
Yotomishi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maynard sprawls well initially but Yotomishi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Maynard is trying to stand up here but Yotomishi is controlling him well.
Yotomishi prevents Maynard from improving his position.
Maynard is pressing down on Yotomishi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Yotomishi stands and throws Maynard's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Maynard defending against the ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yotomishi swings around for an armbar but Maynard sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Yotomishi's guard.
Maynard postures up.
Maynard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Maynard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Yotomishi has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Maynard is looking to defend but Yotomishi has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Maynard! Yotomishi pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Maynard taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nanaki Yotomishi!
