Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Lawson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Day fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lawson, pushing him back against the cage. Day using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lawson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Day throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lawson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Day tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lawson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Lawson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Day pulls him back up using the underhooks. Alex Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Lawson. Day tries a knee to the head but Lawson blocks it.
Lawson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Day throws a knee to the head but misses.
Day lands a knee to the head.
Day with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lawson has Day pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Day manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Lawson tries to pull guard but Day holds him up against the cage and eventually Lawson drops back down to his feet.
Day lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Day misses with a knee strike.
Lawson goes for a takedown attempt but Day pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lawson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Day pinned against the cage. Day gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawson closes the distance and clinches up with Day, looking for a takedown. Lawson pushes Day against the cage but Day circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Day shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lawson's guard. Lawson is looking for a triangle but Day pushes his legs off easily.
Lawson looks gassed! Lawson controls Day momentarily but Day frees himself. Lawson has a closed guard, preventing Day from standing up. Day has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lawson tries to strike from the bottom.
Lawson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Day is one step ahead there. Lawson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Day manages to get himself to full guard.
Lawson forces his way into half guard. Lawson is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day is trying to stand back up but Lawson is controlling him
Lawson works his way into full mount! Day wants to try and get back to his feet. Lawson takes Day's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Day is in trouble.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Day holding both Lawson 's hands and preventing any damage. Lawson throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Lawson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Day has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Lawson looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Day is controlling Lawson 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jeff Lawson will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Day drives through with a takedown into guard. Lawson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Day throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lawson's body to avoid the submission. Lawson has instead reached around Day's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lawson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jeff Lawson!
