Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Trevaugn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Trey Trevaugn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones scores with a takedown into Trevaugn's guard.
Trevaugn wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones stands up over Trevaugn, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones wants to control from the top but Trevaugn keeps moving.
Jones throwing strikes from guard but Trevaugn blocks nicely.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Trevaugn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trevaugn keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trevaugn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Jones wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jones misses with a low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Trevaugn. Those never looked like landing.

and Trevaugn counters by moving into the clinch.
Jones tries to pull guard but Trevaugn holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Trevaugn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Trevaugn is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Trevaugn is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Trevaugn uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Trevaugn thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jones wants to get up but he can't break Trevaugn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Trevaugn keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jim Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones dives in and grabs Trevaugn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trevaugn pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Trevaugn fights it but they end up in guard.

Jones trying to control but Trevaugn is working from the bottom.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trevaugn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Jones just wasn't active enough.
Jones wants to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Trevaugn swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Trevaugn.
Jones scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jones dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Trevaugn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jones tries to clinch up.

Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Trevaugn defends it nicely.
Jones finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Trevaugn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jones shoots in for a double leg but Trevaugn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Trevaugn tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.

Jones swings around for an armbar but Trevaugn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jones's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trevaugn is one step ahead there.

Trevaugn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones wants to control but Trevaugn is keeping him busy.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Trevaugn is defending well.
Trevaugn is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Trevaugn avoid being mounted?

Trevaugn tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Jim Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Trevaugn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jones is looking to stall here but Trevaugn recovers full guard.

Trevaugn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.

Trevaugn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jim Jones.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trevaugn sprawls well. Trevaugn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Jones rushes Trevaugn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jones pulls guard successfully.
Trevaugn won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Trevaugn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trevaugn wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jones has his hands on Trevaugn's head, controlling the position.
Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Trevaugn tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jones dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Trevaugn keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Trevaugn circles away.

Jones drives through with a takedown into Trevaugn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Trevaugn is looking for a triangle here but Jones uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Jones has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Trevaugn is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jones yanks on the arm and Trevaugn is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jones.
