Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mctanned! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charlie Clock! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clock stuffs the takedown attempt from Mctanned. Mctanned gets slowly back to his feet. Mctanned shoots in for a takedown but Clock shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mctanned. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Mctanned. That's going to take a lot out of him. Clock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mctanned but Mctanned pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mctanned gets a takedown into half guard. Clock wants to get back to full guard. Clock is staying active underneath Mctanned, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Clock wants to get back to full guard. Mctanned wants to work for an arm triangle but Clock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Clock is trying to reverse the position but instead Mctanned has taken his back - oops! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mctanned is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Clock has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Mctanned has good solid back control here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mctanned is looking to control Clock but Clock is wriggling around and keeping busy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Clock is in bad spot here.

Mctanned closes the distance and clinches up with Clock, looking for a takedown. Mctanned pushes Clock against the ropes but Clock circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mctanned darts in looking for a takedown but Clock gets double underhooks and turns Mctanned into the ropes. Mctanned works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Clock looking for a guillotine here but Mctanned defends easily.
Clock wants to sweep but no luck. Clock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Clock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mctanned wants to control from the top but Clock keeps moving. Mctanned pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Clock is keeping the position for now. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mctanned fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Clock avoids it really well and circles away. Mctanned changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Clock tries to avoid it but Mctanned manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Clock to the ground. Clock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Clock defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mctanned. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Mctanned. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mctanned tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Clock defends well and Mctanned ends up having to push Clock into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mctanned is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clock is defending well. Mctanned tries for a takedown but Clock manages to get underhooks.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Clock is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Mctanned to keep the fight standing. Mctanned drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mctanned persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Charlie Clock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Clock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
