Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kauko Velaskuez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shephard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is You All Everybody. Jack Shephard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Shephard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kauko Velaskuez! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velaskuez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Velaskuez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shephard quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shephard is trying to maintain the position but Velaskuez is very close to passing his half guard. Velaskuez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shephard defending well though. Velaskuez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Velaskuez is keen to just control but Shephard is a slippery customer. Velaskuez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Velaskuez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Shephard is looking for a sweep. Velaskuez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shephard manages to get to full guard.
Velaskuez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shephard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Velaskuez won't allow Shephard to sweep him here. Velaskuez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shephard's head. Shephard wants to sweep here but Velaskuez controlling him for the moment. Velaskuez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shephard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Velaskuez has managed to get both his arms back between Shephard's legs - danger averted. Velaskuez throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Velaskuez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velaskuez looking to improve position, pressing down on Shephard's thigh with his hand. Shephard seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Velaskuez paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Velaskuez's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Shephard picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jack Shephard! In his post fight interview, Jack Shephard started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
