The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King moves in looking to clinch but Maxx pushes him off.

The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

King slips a straight right by Maxx.

Maxx is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by King.

King tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maxx swats him away and circles back towards the center.
King bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Maxx might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

King shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than King was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Maxx regains half guard.
Maxx wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
King throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
