Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Kakashi Hatake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Coulter! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coulter moves into the clinch. Coulter breaks from the clinch.
Hatake gets a takedown into half guard. Hatake prevents Coulter from improving his position. Hatake tries to pass the half guard into mount. Coulter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Hatake is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Coulter defends it well. Coulter tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hatake has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Coulter gets back to half guard. Hatake is trying to control the action in half guard but Coulter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatake working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hatake wants to work for an arm triangle but Coulter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Coulter wants to improve his position but Hatake is controlling well.
Hatake seems to be looking for submissions.
Coulter is trying to stand up here but Hatake is controlling him well. Hatake seems to be working for a kimura but Coulter defends the submission attempt. Coulter has his hands clasped together around Hatake's back. He's all about the action. The fighters are battling for position here. Coulter manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hatake drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coulter dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hatake is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Coulter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Coulter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Coulter trying to control but Hatake is working from the bottom. Hatake is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Coulter rolls with it to try and escape but Hatake cranks on the arm and Coulter is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
