Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Kersey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Eel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terrance Kersey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Eel!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eel closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kersey quickly recovers to half guard.
Eel scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Eel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kersey is just riding it out for now. Eel eventually gives up the hold.
Kersey is trying to control but can't.
Kersey tries to get to full guard but Eel has control of the leg.
Eel slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Eel decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Kersey throws a jab when Eel was well out of range.

Eel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Eel politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Eel prefers to stall for the moment though.

Eel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Eel tries for a kimura but Kersey is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here.
Eel lands some shots froms side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Eel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Kersey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Eel just content to control the position.

Eel stands up.
Kersey really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kersey gets caught flat footed, as Eel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kersey is breathing heavily.
Eel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kersey can't keep his opponent in guard - Eel advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Eel is taking a breather. Kersey says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Eel dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Eel looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Eel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Eel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Eel passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kersey!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kersey is bucking up trying to escape but Eel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Eel looking to finish Kersey with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kersey!

Eel jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kersey manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Eric Eel has got the better of the ground game so far.
Eel controls the position from side control.
Kersey is looking to regain half guard here but Eel keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Eel decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Eel scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Eel cracks Kersey with a big right hand but Kersey just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Eel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kersey down.

Eel decides to stand back up.

Eel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eel scores with a couple of short elbows.
Eel slows the pace down.
Kersey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Eel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Eel has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kersey!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eel controlling from the full mount.
Let's hope that Eel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Eel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Eel scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Eel connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kersey some visible discomfort.
Eel is working Kersey over with some ground and pound from side control.
The referee asks Eel politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Eel prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kersey gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Eel controlling his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Eel has control of Kersey's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kersey regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Eel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Terrance Kersey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Eel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kersey's face.

Eel with good strikes from the mount here!
Eel lands with some strikes.

Eel with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Eel looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eric Eel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Eric Eel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Eel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
