Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Sotiropoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sotiropoulos comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC- TNT. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Sotiropoulos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hussey! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hussey shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sotiropoulos eats them both and turns towards Hussey to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Hussey stuffs the takedown attempt from Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos gets slowly back to his feet. Hussey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sotiropoulos's head backwards. Hussey looks to land a right hand but Sotiropoulos moved out of range. Hussey attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Sotiropoulos shoots in for a takedown but Hussey shows good takedown defense. Hussey throws a looping overhand right but Sotiropoulos ducks down to avoid it. Hussey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sotiropoulos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hussey fails with a takedown attempt. No luck for Sotiropoulos with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Sotiropoulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hussey throws an overhand right that lands on Sotiropoulos's shoulder, as Sotiropoulos tries to avoid the shot. Michael Hussey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hussey leaves Sotiropoulos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sotiropoulos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Hussey to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hussey takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Hussey misses with a looping right. Hussey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sotiropoulos manages to avoid it. Hussey missing with a left hand there. Sotiropoulos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hussey lands with a right hand. Hussey works over Sotiropoulos's head and body with a nice combination. Hussey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sotiropoulos's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Sotiropoulos looking for a guillotine here but Hussey defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sotiropoulos has momentary wrist control but Hussey slips an elbow through the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Sotiropoulos has his foot on Hussey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hussey works his way back into a safe position though. Hussey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sotiropoulos working for a triangle but Hussey defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hussey wants to control from the top but Sotiropoulos keeps moving. Hussey looking to sit in guard and control but Sotiropoulos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hussey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sotiropoulos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sotiropoulos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hussey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hussey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hussey! Hussey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sotiropoulos keeps working. Hussey working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hussey tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sotiropoulos's legs. Hussey in side control, throwing shots but Sotiropoulos defends. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Hussey dominated that round. That's time! Sotiropoulos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sotiropoulos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hussey swivels and escapes. Sotiropoulos dives in and grabs Hussey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hussey pushes down on Sotiropoulos's head and hops out. Hussey misses with a leg kick. Hussey connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sotiropoulos momentarily.

Hussey tries to sprawl out of it but Sotiropoulos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hussey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Sotiropoulos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hussey getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sotiropoulos shoots and misses and Hussey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hussey misses with a hook. Sotiropoulos ducked under it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sotiropoulos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hussey circles away. Sotiropoulos shoots in looking for a takedown. Hussey tries to sprawl out of it but Sotiropoulos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hussey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sotiropoulos. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Sotiropoulos shoots and misses and Hussey counters with a straight right hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hussey looks to land a left hand but Sotiropoulos moved out of range nicely. Hussey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sotiropoulos defends it nicely. Hussey connects with a body shot. Sotiropoulos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hussey circles away. Hussey throws out a leg kick but Sotiropoulos moves out of range and Hussey only half commits. Sotiropoulos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hussey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hussey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sotiropoulos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Michael Hussey has got the better of the ground game so far. Hussey swings around for an armbar but Sotiropoulos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hussey's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hussey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hussey throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sotiropoulos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hussey looks panicked! Sotiropoulos looking for a sweep but Hussey has passed into full mount! Oh no! Hussey lands with some strikes. Sotiropoulos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hussey moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sotiropoulos has worked his arm free - good work by Sotiropoulos!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hussey lands a decent elbow from side control. Sotiropoulos defending against the ground and pound. Sotiropoulos parries the strikes from Hussey easily there. Hussey is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sotiropoulos to escape.

Sotiropoulos is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sotiropoulos tries to bench press Hussey off him but Hussey keeps the position. Oh Sotiropoulos is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hussey has hold of Sotiropoulos's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sotiropoulos tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hussey cranks the arm and Sotiropoulos screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sotiropoulos, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
