Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manny Skelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skelton comes to the cage accompanied by Example - Midnight Run. Mega has chosen Black and Yellow as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Manny Skelton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Mega! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mega stuffs the takedown. Skelton scores with a jab. Mega acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Mega uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Skelton. Mega keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mega keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Skelton lands a glancing blow to the side of Mega's head. Mega shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Skelton looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mega missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mega trying to control from half guard but Skelton is working away. Skelton is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skelton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mega not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mega with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Skelton tries to kick Mega off but Mega keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Skelton wants to control but Mega is keeping busy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice takedown defense from Mega. No joy for Skelton on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Skelton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Skelton takes a swing at Mega's ribcage but misses. Skelton closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Sloppy strikes from Mega. Those never looked like landing. Mega scores with a nice right hand.
Mega throws a nice looking combination but Skelton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mega shoots in for a takedown but Skelton shows good takedown defense. Skelton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mega is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Mega's face as Skelton controls the position. Skelton working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Mega manages to get back to half guard. Skelton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mega with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are battling for position here. Mega manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Skelton trying to control but Mega is working from the bottom. Skelton stops Mega from standing up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mega can do anything to dispel that myth. Mega keeping moving, preventing Skelton from controlling successfully. Skelton stands up and waves to Mega to follow him. Manny Skelton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for Mega, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Skelton with that takedown attempt. Mega displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Mega stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mega wants it to stay on the feet. Mega closes the distance and lands a one-two. Left hook, right uppercut from Mega. Mega bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Skelton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Skelton avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Mega creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Skelton sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Skelton defending against the ground and pound. Skelton gets back to half guard. Skelton looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mega is looking to take a break and control but Skelton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Mega dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Skelton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Mega missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mega trying to control the position from guard on top but Skelton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Max Mega has got the better of the ground game so far. Skelton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mega. Skelton is trying to keep Mega in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Skelton shoots in and bounces Mega off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mega wants to stand but Skelton is controlling the position. Skelton wants to control from the top but Mega keeps moving. Mega wants to stand and escape but Skelton is having none of it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mega is on top in guard.
Mega controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Skelton keeping full guard, as Mega tries to pass. Mega stops Skelton from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mega lands a couple of decent looking shots. Mega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skelton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Skelton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mega is pushing down on Skelton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Skelton is fighting to maintain full guard but Mega has managed to sneak the leg through. Skelton is trying to stand.
Mega not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mega wants to take a breather but Skelton is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Skelton is looking to escape. Mega trying to mount his opponent but Skelton defends it. Mega throwing shots but Skelton is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mega missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mega not landing any meaningful shots this time. Skelton won't allow Mega to pass to mount. Mega is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Mega wants to stand but Skelton is controlling his posture from full guard. Skelton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mega throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mega throws an elbow that misses. Skelton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mega's guard. Nice move by Skelton! Mega wants to stand but Skelton is controlling the position. Skelton working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Skelton distracts Mega with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Skelton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Skelton is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mega wants to stand but Skelton is controlling the position. Skelton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mega's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Mega tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Mega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Skelton dives in for a single leg takedown but Mega sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Skelton has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mega after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Skelton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Skelton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mega wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mega scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Skelton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mega. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mega!
Skelton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mega counters with a nice uppercut. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Skelton tries for a takedown but Mega sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mega moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Manny Skelton has been cut. A punch combination from Mega misses. Mega's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mega duly obliges. Skelton with a poor takedown and Mega counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mega throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mega moves into full mount! Skelton in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Manny Skelton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mega lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Mega working Skelton over with strikes here. Skelton is desperately trying to improve his position but Mega has a good base and remains in mount. Skelton wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mega.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Skelton wants to hold on but Mega pushes him away. Skelton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Mega tries to control but Skelton wriggling away. Mega looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Skelton regains half guard. Mega sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Skelton defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skelton tries to roll over but Mega keeps him under control. Skelton blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mega. Mega trying to pass the guard but Skelton defending well. Max Mega is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Skelton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mega is working away from the top position though. Skelton wants to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mega looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Mega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mega winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
