PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Parslow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helix Mannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Scott Parslow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Helix Mannon!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parslow tests Mannon's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Parslow throws a strike aimed at the side of Mannon's head but Mannon avoids it well.
Mannon managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Parslow.
Parslow wants to control but Mannon is keeping him busy.

Parslow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Parslow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ground and pound from Parslow seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Parslow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mannon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Parslow has his foot on Mannon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mannon works his way back into a safe position though.

Parslow has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mannon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Even with his hooks in, Parslow manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Parslow is breathing heavily.
Mannon tries to break free.

Parslow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Parslow moves out of range as Mannon strikes.
Parslow shoots in and drives through. Mannon sprawls well.

Mannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parslow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Parslow throws a jab but it's blocked by Mannon.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mannon.

Parslow fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mannon sprawls well initially but Parslow persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Parslow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mannon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mannon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parslow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

and Mannon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Parslow looks to land a left hand but Mannon moved out of range nicely.
Parslow tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mannon swivels and escapes.

Parslow throws a looping overhand right but Mannon ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parslow, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
