Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Chio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Hawk! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chio blocks a jab. Hawk looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Chio drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Chio looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Chio landing some decent shots from guard. Chio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hawk's guard. Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chio is working for a kimura but Hawk is defending it quite comfortably.
Chio is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Chio looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chio missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chio performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Chio is trying to control the action in half guard but Hawk is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Chio drops an elbow to the side of Hawk's head. Chio is trying for a kimura here. Hawk looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Chio wins by kimura!
